Contributed to the implementation of a brand new VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environment in our Anchorage and Seattle datacenters

Lead the migration of over 4000 virtual machines, over the course of months, from our older VMware environments to the new VCF environment using VMware HCX
o Automated this process outside of the HCX web interface by creating a Powershell script that would ingest VM information from a spreadsheet that had a batch of VMs to migrate
Troubleshot issues with VMware's Workspace ONE (identity management) and its integration with our Windows Active Directory
Imported each of the vRealize Automation deployed virtual machines from our old environment into Automation in the VCF environment so that they could once again be lifecycle managed by Automation
Created custom alerts within vRealize Operations and created custom Telegraf alerts within Operations
Created custom VMware Log Insight queries to troubleshoot issues in the environment
Performed multiple software upgrades and security patches of all the vRealize products utilizing vRealize Lifecycle Manager most of the time but also upgraded direct within the administration interfaces of the products as needed

About a year later after doing all this work setting up VCF and all the monitoring of every aspect of the environment to perform alerting as needed, a decision was made by GCI to move all of our monitoring into the VMware Cloud. Specifically that meant VMware Operations, Log Insight and Network Insight, which meant that I had to recreate every single data integration I had just done and every single custom alert that I created in the new VMware Cloud environment, which I did

Imported those VMs into the new environment Aria Automation deployments so that they could be lifecycle managed
