UX Researcher, User Researcher, UX Designer, Service Designer, Graphic Designer

Summary

I have been working for over 25 years as a UX Researcher and UX Designer - quite often in a combined or hybrid role.

Some of the typical tasks I undertake are:
Taking a briefing/managing stakeholders (spec, strategy, ideas, estimates, conducting workshops, managing third parties)
Working with third parties and stakeholders to project manage a piece of work and keep it on track
Conducting Research (selecting the right tools and methods, Interviews, surveys, recruitment, usability testing, accessibility testing, market research, ethnography)
UX (Information architecture, Wireframing, prototyping (various levels of fidelity suitable for testing purpose), problem solving, interaction design)
UI Design (but I mainly focus on the UX side of things)
Graphic Design (Branding, Artwork, Illustration, Desktop Publishing etc)

Having worked in UX consultantancy role for KPMG and others, I am mainly used to being thrown into and leading on large projects, but always happy to work in a team if you need an extra pair of hands on a project, or to mentor or lead more junior members of the team.

I have experience in the following industries: Education (adults and children), Retail (supermarkets and online), Media (TV, Radio, Newspapers, Music industry), Healthcare (NHS website, medical patient or hospital facing systems, training and sales tools), Banking and finance (Several high street banks and financial institutions), Consultancy (KPMG and HCL), Government (both national - Parliament, and local councils).

I am looking for either remote or hybrid roles - both perm or freelance/contract and am available immediately.

Expectations

In my ideal role I would get to use most of my skills regularly.
I have many years experience in UX Design, UX Research, Service Design, managing projects and stakeholders and performing consultancy work. You can hand me something, give me a deadline and be confident that I will handle it professionally, working autonomously, and only asking for help if absolutely necessary. I am comfortable managing and presenting to stakeholders of all levels.

I am always happy to work in a collaborative team if required also, and to mentor or train more junior members of the team, but I thrive best when asked to lead (and help shape the requirements for) projects.
