Summary

Over a decade of experience in software development, working for organisations of all shapes and sizes, from volunteer open-source teams to Agile SCRUM teams in large corporations, from customer and market oriented roles to internal tech support teams. I've worked on desktop, mobile and web applications using many different languages and frameworks. Thanks to this broad experience, the primary qualities I contribute are perspective and an appreciation for all personalities and roles. The benefit of perspective is knowing that every tool, every personality and every product represents a solution to a specific set of problems, and that applying the right solutions in the right situations is what makes productive teams and successful products. The benefit of broad experience is knowing that every person can be motivated to show their best when put in a situation suited to their talents, and interacted with in a way they appreciate. Most people are happy specialising for a specific role, but consequently have difficulty understanding others. In a sense, I'm the opposite. I aim to bring all roles together into either a coherent product, if I'm working alone, or a productive team, when I have teammates. My primary passion is making creativity and imagination a reality, while making high-quality products that meet real world needs and requirements.
