Summary

Grew through current company over 2+ years by automating my own workflow -- from manual quoting/booking order submissions with one primary shipping carrier and one backup, to automated price comparison, saving $300,000 a year and counting with the addition of new carriers. Enabled bulk data analysis between shipping carriers for the company with self-created quoting tool, to evaluate feasibility of new shipping partners. Achieved 95+% reduction in shipping errors with custom Android app for barcode scanners, built in spare time. Recognized by company and transferred to remote role for full time development. Solo developed and launched full web app version of initial shipping quoting/booking tool, full-stack in TypeScript with React, PostgreSQL via Supabase, leveraging external APIs from our warehouse management system and partnered shipping carriers. Attempting to leverage Claude and other AI workflows to speed up product delivery. Additionally skilled in .NET, MAUI, MVVM, Excel VBA, RESTful APIs. BS in Computer Science and Minor in Linguistics from University of California, San Diego.

Expectations

I'm looking for a role where I can grow in my understanding of systems as a whole, designing systems to solve real world problems and be of use to real people. I started in a position where I intimately understood the workflow of the users who would eventually be using my programs and apps, and I want to continue providing real use to people -- not just achieving abstract goals. I could see myself growing into a role where I can act as a liaison between user and technical design.
