Systems Analyst

Summary

After many years as a software developer, architect, manager, and trainer, working in enterprises in all stages of growth from startup to global, I have recently been working as a freelance consultant, identifying opportunities for improvement in the software development process of companies, on behalf of potential acquirers.
I work closely with specialists in business and finance, in law, and of course in software. I have a rare ability to communicate risks and opportunities in terms that resonate with the mindsets of each of these groups, allowing me to cut through organizational stasis. (It helps that I had a brief career as a lawyer, which included training in conflict mediation.)

Expectations

I am open to either contract work or permanent. I expect some flexibility in my hours, limited or no travel, and the ability to work from home. I prefer to work for companies that strive to treat their employees and customers fairly. I like a management culture that believes in learning, and can admit to mistakes. Most of all, I hope to be both challenged and supported.
