I am a qualified Structural Engineer with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and followed it up with a Master of Engineering degree in Structural Mechanics and Materials at Cornell University. One of my defining moments was when I got to design a complete design of a hostel / dorm building and subsequently became adept at using ETABS and AutoCAD. At Cornell University, I took up courses on advanced design of concrete structures, finite element analysis, concrete materials and construction, and structural dynamics. I was able to apply all my theoretical knowledge into my project which was on reinforced concrete design. This included a detailed design of an academic building from the roof to the foundations. During my time at Cornell, I also channeled my passion towards this field by taking up teaching assistant assignments for a freshman course where I hosted office hours for students, graded their papers and monitored their laboratory work.
