Summary

The lion's share of my programming time has been on backend C++, building a large batch process to health check financial analytics, with an API to make the results usable by our frontend. I took over the project from an outgoing intern, and grew it from a compelling proof of concept to a seven-figure product, as the team grew from, "It's me. I'm the team," to four people in the US and five in India. It was an incredibly rewarding and educational experience; I hope to have a chance to try it again with a new product and a new team.

Expectations

Treat people like humans, not resources, and treat Engineering like a value generator, not a cost center. Communicate early and often, and encourage feedback. "We welcome feedback, but please keep it between you and your manager," is NOT encouraging feedback.
