Software Engineer II

Summary

For 4.5 years I worked at Wayfair, rising from an entry-level engineer to a Senior Engineer while working in their outbound supply chain operations space. Specifically, I was involved in and led initiatives focused on developing microservices for the tools that warehouse ops used in order to successfully pack and ship packages.

- Designed and built a Packing Station UI and API to replace an older version that resided in the monolith which led to a 5.25M annual impact due to increased user speed of ~15%, faster ramp up for new hires, and 35% reduction errors

- Implemented a Label Printing API which utilized asycn processing with Kafka to reduce label print requests from ~9.5s to ~3.5s, saving 350,000 a year in labor costs and $400,000 from downtime reduction

Expectations
