Summary

In total I have about 6 years of Software Engineering experience.

My first experience is over 2 years of freelance Software development consisting of primarily NodeJS/Express and React work.

Afterwards I worked for about 2 years at a top logistics company acting as a Subject matter expert over our Kubernetes usage and a core service that had heavy load as well as a responsibility of being a core service around providing customer facing prices based on a variety of data we would check.

I currently have been working at Microsoft for over 2 years where I have been responsible for designing, and implementing from scratch multiple features in tandem with Project Managers, UX Designers, and other Software Engineering teams. My day to day includes creating technical design documents, having design reviews, and implementing features or helping others implement them based off of the designs. The features I work on have high visibility on the product, and directly affect millions of users.

For the past 8 months I have been the sole tech lead at a non profit where I lead a team of over 6 other Software Engineers and take care of the strategy, operations, and implementation of the technical side at the company. I am on the leadership team and am part of coordinating work between Marketing, UX, Product, and Engineering.

Expectations

I am looking for a mid to senior level role where I can have the responsibility and ownership at least over an important feature set or service, from technical design, to implementation. I am not looking for a role as a people manager, but have experience leading technical projects with large scope from an engineering perspective.

While I am experienced with Engineering and love infrastructure, distributed systems, and backend development I am also very motivated about product oriented development where I can build quality features for quality customers from all ends of the stack.

I can appreciate a good work life balance, and a comfortable remote environment with asynchronous communication but active coworkers. I'm not against the typical 9-5, but do enjoy the freedoms of being able to shift my schedule sometimes.
