Software Engineer

Summary

Over the last four years, I have been living in Thailand and teaching English. In my free time, I began to explore my passion for coding and self-taught myself the basics. I wanted to take my skills to the next level, so I enrolled in Hack Reactor's intensive 19-week immersive program last April. The program focused on full-stack development using JavaScript and React on the frontend and Python and Django on the backend. The program was intense, with 12-hour days from Monday to Friday for 19 weeks. I was completely immersed in all things programming, working on solo projects and small agile teams. After completing the program, I was well-rounded and ready for the next step. I was hired by Galvanize, Hack Reactor's parent company, as a software engineering resident. In this role, I work alongside experienced senior engineers to provide code review, debugging, and teach best practices using in-demand technologies like Docker, Django, and React.

Expectations

I am looking for a role that provides opportunities for learning and growth. Some key factors I might consider include the company's track record for providing training and support for developers, the technology stack and development methodologies used by the company, and the opportunity to work on interesting projects and challenges. I might also look for a company with a positive work culture and a team of experienced developers who can provide mentorship and guidance. Additionally, I might consider the company's location, compensation, and benefits.
