Software Engineer
Summary
Hi there! I'm a Computer Science major at the University of Maryland - Baltimore County. I'm expected to graduate in May 2023 and my current GPA is 3.8/4.0 in my major and 3.2/4.0 overall.
In terms of skills, I have experience with a variety of programming languages, including C++, Python, SQL, Java, Swift, Linux, and Assembly. I also have knowledge in areas such as Software Development, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, and AWS. Some relevant coursework I've taken includes Software Engineering I, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Data Structures, Discrete Structures, and Design & Analysis of Algorithms.
I have some work experience as a Cloud Engineer at Internet2, where I designed, implemented, and managed cloud infrastructure using AWS Serverless components, automated tasks using custom scripts written in Python, utilized Terraform to provision EC2 instances, VPCs, and security groups, and implemented CI/CD pipelines using Codecommit, Github, and AWS CodePipeline. I also conducted research and evaluated new cloud technologies to enhance the existing infrastructure.
In addition, I worked as a Software Engineer - Research Assistant at the University of Maryland - Baltimore County, where I reduced the power consumption and travel time of clock signal distribution by 43% using a custom algorithm and patented tools. I also developed a multi-tiered system to produce a tool to simulate distributions and constructed multiple algorithms using complex data structures to minimize time complexity and runtime.
One of my personal projects includes developing a web app to maximize time management for underclassmen college students at the HackDuke Hackathon. I successfully integrated a cloud-based content management system with an existing web application, resulting in a 15% increase in performance. I used skills such as Google Cloud, PostgreSQL, and Java.
Outside of my academic and professional life, I am a member of the Varsity Swimming and Diving Team at the University of Maryland - Baltimore County. Training over 20 hours per week has helped me demonstrate exceptional time commitment and teamwork skills.
