Expectations

I'm looking for a backend engineering role where I can own meaningful problems end-to-end and see my work have direct product impact. At Amazon, I've gotten to build some great systems a label rendering service handling 20M+ transactions daily, a defect detection service preventing around $220M in annual losses but at that scale, you're often one engineer on a large team working on a small slice of a much bigger machine.
What I want next is a smaller, high-leverage environment where I can take a backend problem from design to production and actually watch it move the needle for the product. I still want the technical depth distributed systems, event-driven architectures, the hard scaling and reliability problems but paired with a faster feedback loop and a team where engineers have real ownership.
