Summary

I'm a professional software engineer with over 10 years of experience building full-stack web applications, mobile games, and other software, with technologies like React and Express in JavaScript or Microsoft tech like C# on .NET Core. I've been working remotely in a highly self-directed capacity for 5 years.

I treat software engineering like a craft, and I believe a deep level of care and attention to detail across the entire process results in more reliable products that are easier to maintain and improve, with a greatly reduced accumulation of technical debt. That means getting the high-level architecture right, of course. But the fundamentals form a foundation for the entire project; you get a code-base that is highly readable and thus easily maintainable, and heavily tested to solidify confidence in our code.

Expectations

Ideally, my next position will enable me to invest in my competency and knowledge. I'm looking to grow as a software engineer by learning higher-level skills like system design, and expanding my toolset with skills in functional programming techniques, cloud-based platforms, and other modern software innovations. Regardless, I'm looking for flexible, ego-free teams building great software we can be proud of.
