Summary

I am a fullstack software developer with 2.5 YoE with experience working in an agile development environment on an accelerated sprint cycle incrementally delivering high quality bug free features. In my professional career, I have experience with Java, React, MySQL, Docker, google cloud platform infrastructure, and some python. I also have experience working with Spring boot, and have worked through setting up a mature backend that exposes a REST API, Oauth2 authentication, has a payment integration with Stripe, and integrates with a MariaDB database.

As a product engineer on a team of 8 engineers, I work on other team led projects while also getting to lead projects myself. Below are a couple projects I've delivered in the past year.

Over the last year, I lead a project around an integration with a 3rd party freight compliance. This project involved me architecting out the end state of how our integration would function and incrementally dividing up the work into tickets for myself and other engineers on my team to work on. This project lead to my company cancelling its current contract with our previous freight compliance service, and allowed us to build features involving this new service on top of the groundwork laid during the initial integration project. This project involved cross department communication, communicating deadlines to get stakeholder buy in, and external communication and regular meetings with representatives at the 3rd party freight compliance company.

Similar to the above integration project, I lead a project around setting up a net new integration with a 3rd party freight financial platform. I championed an effort around creating an integration via API to automate a manual document management process that our billing team had previously done manually. This eliminated a tedious and burdensome manual process.

In addition to my external integration focused projects, I've lead multiple internal projects around compliance and enforcing business rules around my company's guidelines for shippers and carriers. In early 2023, I lead a project around clarifying our compliance rules for the carriers my company worked with. This involved defining new compliance statuses with further granularity, allowing both our algorithm and internal company admins to be smarter about appropriately matching shippers to carriers for covering freight loads. In addition, this allowed shippers the flexibility of choosing with greater precision which carriers they would allow to carry their freight. This project helped us win business from key enterprise customers, earning the company significant shipment per day volume.

Expectations

I'm looking to continue growing as a software engineer, gaining familiarity with new tech stacks and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I'd like to continue learning how to architect great software that is efficient, performant, maintainable, and easy to work with as a user. Team culture is huge to me, and I love working with folks who share my passion for developing high quality software.
