Summary

I am a motivated and seasoned 5th-year Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) student at Mekelle University in Ethiopia, with an anticipated graduation in October 2024. Throughout my academic journey, I have gained experience in creating and implementing innovative software solutions using Python and its frameworks, such as Django and PyQt. I have a passion for designing and developing cross-platform software solutions, ranging from simple to complex projects.

During my time as a Software Engineer at Samaritan's Purse from November 2022 to May 2023, I played a significant role in automating the organization's manual work processes. I developed an automated strategy to filter and group large amounts of beneficiary data and contributed as a backend developer to the organization's Food Distribution System, which streamlined their program from start to reporting. I also designed and optimized the performance of the system by implementing PostgreSQL database and applying various database optimization mechanisms.

In addition, I co-founded Cradle Technologies, a startup where we ideated, designed, and deployed an advanced stock management system using Python's PyQt5 framework and MySQL database. I utilized data analysis and visualization libraries like NumPy, pandas, and Matplotlib to summarize and analyze reports. We successfully deployed the system in pharmacies, supermarkets, and related stores, providing real-time notifications for payment, stock status, and expiry dates.

One of my notable achievements includes developing a Data Hiding System using steganography techniques as a mini-project. I applied image processing algorithms and implemented a secure secret data transfer mechanism. The project received appreciation and was ranked highly by evaluators.

I have also received recognition for my contributions. Samaritan's Purse awarded me a certificate of appreciation for automating their iterative and time-consuming manual works. Additionally, I received a certificate of appreciation from the Araya Charity Club for serving the community and mentoring teenagers in computing, physics, and mathematics.

Throughout my academic journey, I have completed relevant coursework in data structures and algorithms, ReactJS, Django Rest Framework, and frontend development with VueJS. I have a keen interest in machine learning and applied statistics.

Outside of my professional pursuits, I enjoy fitness, exploring food and nutrition, personal development, and leadership. I also find solace in listening to piano music.
