I'm a software developer with a background as a licensed optician for the past 8 years. In my previous career I balanced technical and mathematical skills with creativity and problem solving for situations including selling and adjusting glasses as well as troubleshooting visual or fit challenges for customers. I am passionate about building a more sustainable, equitable society through technology.
Early this December I completed the Software Engineering program through General Assembly. I very much enjoyed the immersive program through General Assembly and learning how to code along with multiple languages, concepts, and technologies! I've also begun learning C# ContactContact.NET, Docker (and Kubernetes) Contact and several other languages/technologies that were not offered by GA. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow and to find ways to help the company I land with to continue growing as well!
I'm looking for a role with a company that will provide mentorship and learning opportunities. I am eager to learn new technologies and to deepen my understanding of the one's I've already begun learning. It's important to me to be part of a team that is doing impactful, thoughtful work in the world and for me to work for a company that is cognizant of social justice issues and climate change and other important causes. I will fully commit to a role that is with a company that commits to me and to building a better world.
