Summary

I recently graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Systems with a focus in Computer Science. Throughout my life I have always been fascinated with how technology works, from simple devices like taking apart pens to understanding the methods behind my parents' navigation apps. Because of that, I enjoyed studying the most complex machines to exist, the cognitive systems around us. Through the lenses of Computer Science, Philosophy, and Psychology I was able to understand these different processes. I want to use these skills to create applications that enable users to more clearly interact with themselves and the environment around them, making fluid transitions between what they are thinking and what they are doing. Fluidity like being able to maintain your initial intuitions while conducting qualitative research, clarifying social networks in applications, or making trademark filings more efficient for those that are unclear about its processes. I was lucky enough to work on all these projects that align with my world views and help make an impact on those that come across these applications. I continue to want to work on meaningful projects where people are easily able to reap the benefits that they provide.

Expectations

At my core, I get super excited about new technologies and there use cases. I really enjoy seeking out how to learn these and use them in my daily workflow. A change in visual scenery and thought processes can be healthy as well to prevent burnout and increase motivation. In a work space, I would like to join a community of engineers that are on the cutting edge of technology and who are eager to share their knowledge and experience in past endeavors onto me. In an effort to stay mentally strong and engaged I also want the targeted demographic to feel the same way and join a project team that is having a positive impact on our current societal needs.
