Summary

I am a Software Engineer professional specializing in Java backend code using best design and testing practices. My strengths are understanding the big picture while being detail-oriented, being a proponent of TDD, writing clear documentation, and staying focused on a problem until it is solved. I have designed, implemented, and maintained a wide range of systems from data collection (embedded systems), data processing (upper-level languages), credit card transaction processing (AWS Cloud systems), to Big Data Extract, Transform, and Load AWS glue code (run on serverless Sparc workstations). I appreciate opportunities to mentor individuals and provide materials that help my team and myself to understand the system. Due to my detailed checking, I identified a critical edge case flaw in a business-approved design preventing a potential production issue that would have been challenging to diagnose and resolve. In my next role I am excited about learning a different business and what algorithms are needed, as well as learning from co-workers and documenting along the way.
