Summary

I have had a love of software development and coding since I took my first Java class in high school. Despite my education and experience in other fields. I have always been drawn to programming in some form, either on the side or finding ways to incorporate it into my work.
I have worked as a freelance web developer on and off for a little over 2 years, as well as spending a year as a full-time developer working on enterprise web applications while in grad school. In July 2022 I started my first post-university, full-time software engineering role, where I was able to learn a lot and greatly expanded my knowledge base. Working in biotech, I built a strong problem-solving skill set and the ability to pick up new technical skills quickly to meet the varying demands of working in a lab. During my time in the restaurant industry, I developed the ability to adapt to nearly any situation.

Expectations

After working in a nonprofit for the last year, the thing that matters to me the most about a position is that the work I do helps create meaningful, positive change.
