Software Engineer
Australia/Sydney - AEDT / AEST
Summary
I am a biomedical engineer and emerging computing professional with a multidisciplinary background spanning biomedical engineering, clinical research, and systems development. I am currently undertaking a Master of Computing at the Australian National University (expected 2026), building advanced expertise in algorithms, data structures, and applied computing to complement my strong foundation in engineering. I previously graduated with First Class Honours in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of Sydney.
I began my professional career at Cochlear Ltd, where I undertook progressive roles across Research & Development and Global Clinical & Medical Affairs. As an Associate Clinical Portfolio Manager, I managed clinical portfolios for next-generation sound processors and surgical technologies, leading the development of clinical evidence strategies, trial designs, and statistical analyses to support regulatory and market needs. In this role, I worked extensively with cross-functional teams, clinicians, and international partners, building deep capabilities in stakeholder engagement, project coordination, and data-driven decision making.
Transitioning into Research & Development as a Systems Engineer, I applied my technical and analytical skills to the development of a novel cochlear implant system. My work encompassed electrical characterisation, systems testing, lifecycle engineering, and technical complaint resolution. This role sharpened my ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues, update requirements, and deliver solutions in compliance with rigorous safety and performance standards.
Alongside my professional engineering experience, I have contributed to academic research and teaching. As a Student Researcher with the ARC Training Centre for Innovative Bioengineering, I conducted laboratory research in tissue engineering, incorporating risk management, data analysis, and mechanical design using SOLIDWORKS. I later served as a Casual Academic at the University of Sydney, tutoring a core biomedical engineering subject and supporting the development of the next generation of engineers. My work with the Warren Centre for Advanced Engineering further broadened my exposure to humanitarian engineering and interdisciplinary project management.
My career is underpinned by strong technical skills in programming (Java, Python, MATLAB), data analysis (Python, R, Excel), systems engineering, and the use of project tools such as Git and Jira. I combine this technical depth with a proven capacity to operate in multidisciplinary teams, adapt to complex challenges, and deliver outcomes that advance both technology and community wellbeing.
