Summary

I am currently a contracted Business Analyst, and Ive been in this role for about 6 months. My background is in psychology, I graduated in May 2021 with Bachelor of Science in psychology and minor in public health. The work I do as a business analyst is not as technical as I would like it to be, but it has enabled me to continue to learn more about programs and technology that could be useful to me when I am able to land a job as a software developer. I recently earned a certification in AWS cloud services, and am working towards a more specialized certification in AWS. I've completed a python bootcamp, as well as Harvards intro to computer science course, some data structures and algorithms courses, and a bootcamp in web development.

I was a full-stack software developer for roughly one year, before I was laid off due to budget cuts in December 2022. In this role, I worked on an application for the US department of defense. The frontend was built in Vue with JavaScript and TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Node, and we used Jest and TypeScript for unit testing. The backend and APIs were built with Python, Flask, and OpenAPI, and we used PostgreS for our database. We used Docker for containerization of our development and testing environments. The team I was on consisted of me and two others, so I worked in a large scope and I was able to learn a lot in a short amount of time.

Expectations

I am looking for a job that will allow me to learn and grow as a I make valuable contributions to the team. I would like to be on a team with more senior people that I can learn from.
