Summary

I have recently been employed by Wawanesa insurance as an Application Developer. During my time there I helped maintain stability and improve the efficiency of Wawanesas insurance brokers online platform. I used a combination of Gosu (general-purpose language that runs on the JVM), Mulesofts Anypoint Platform, and Groovy to aid an Agile development team in fixing bugs and adding functionality to the project. I was also in charge of monitoring the Automated Testing pipeline using Jenkins, this included daily monitoring of automated tests and investigating any failures to determine the root cause. I also assisted in monitoring the Splunk performance logs to document performance drops. This role was on an Agile development team that used Jira and Confluence to organize tasks and documentation.

I also completed a 7 month contract with a local non-profit organization, Youth Ottawa. My responsibilities are to ensure the total technical success of the project, which includes working with APIs with a basis in JavaScript, and working with content management systems. I also held various customer-related responsibilities that required the use of soft skills such as assisting the Executive Director in pitch meetings to successfully secure funding, communicating technical specifications to clients, and assembling presentations to be used to market the product.

Expectations

I am looking for opportunities to grow as a professional in the tech industry. My primary skillset is suited for development work, however I am open to any sort of roles that will challenge me and nurture other skills that I may not have focused on developing as much. In addition to development work, I am also open to QA, Analyst, Technical Support, Administrative, and Sales Development roles as well.
