I am a senior software engineer with a strong track record of meeting the company's software goals, delivered on time, with meticulous attention to writing maintainable code.

I have extensive experience as a software architect and project manager, specializing in migrating industry software from legacy solutions to cutting edge technologies. Rather than copying bad design to new technologies, I seek to understand the entire system from the perspective of the business and its users so I can design solutions that will best meet the company's software goals.

My dedicated commitment to the sensible utilization of design patterns and keeping up with the latest standards while maintaining project consistency result in code that is easy to maintain and build upon by other engineers. I've enjoyed many years of mentoring junior and senior engineers alike, helping others grow to become more autonomous and progressively learn to simplify and tackle more complex tasks.

I realize the importance of engineers to build a real understanding of the users' "stories" through conversation and real life examples of the problems the users need to solve and how they will interact with the software, instead of relying solely on specs and requirements documents, because shared knowledge is NOT shared understanding.

Expectations

I expect my job to feel meaningful. Bonus points if the company is B-Corp certified. I expect to spend at least 20% (closer to 40% would be a preferable average) of my time writing code, as I feel it is important for architects (and even dev managers) to be experts in the codebase in order to be a useful resource for the developers, and quickly remove any blockers, improving group productivity.
