Summary
Successfully led company through SOC-2 audit of AWS and production environments. Not only did I ensure that the company met stringent security and privacy standards, but also resulted in substantial cost savings. My initiative and diligence saved the company over $25,000 per month in cloud spending, highlighting my ability to contribute to both the technical and financial aspects of the organization.
This same work informed projects which I proposed and led to restructure the AWS organization, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and create self-service Just-in-Time (JIT) temporary access systems to cloud environments for internal employees. The AWS JIT system relied on Terraform, AWS Cloudformation, Python, Gitlab dynamic pipelines, and a Slack bot. This was the first self-service tool of its kind within the engineering org and its implementation resulted in a cleaner AWS environment, more time for myself and teammates to focus on impactful projects, and more efficient developers.
