Shelter Manager

Summary

Assessing the needs of families in current housing crisis
Scheduling and conducting intakes and ensuring a smooth transition into the shelter
Coordinating volunteer opportunities and donor efforts
Managing monetary and other charitable donations from parishioners within Christ Lutheran Church and the community
Ensuring proper level of office and shelter supplies via weekly ordering and inventory efforts
Attending staff meetings, resident house meetings & professional training with Case Manager, Shelter Director, Deputy Director & Executive Director
Collaborating with colleagues, local agencies, programs and resource centers to offer cohesive network of support
 Maintaining filing systems for sensitive client information
Maintaining time sheets for staff, generating new hire paperwork and staff policies/procedures
Maintaining Shelter Emergency Plan to reflect Fire, Police, Security measures
Supervising housekeeping & maintenance staff to ensure facilities are adequate for daily use
Updating the communication log
Utilizing HMIS (Homeless Management Information Systems) to ensure data quality and maintain the integrity of BOS’s data; Conducting the Housing Inventory Count (HIC) and Point in Time (PIT) count
Recognizing building repairs & scheduling necessary service
Ordering of appliances for shelter and BOS transitional homes
Participation in the discharge planning process
