Senior Software Engineer

Summary

I am a senior software engineer with more than 20 years of experience in a variety of companies, from startups to $2B+ in yearly revenue.
Though I consider myself a generalist--give me a problem to solve in C++ or Python and set me free--I have specialized in image processing on several fronts: machine vision, real-time video display, GPU processing, camera development, and more. If you ever wanted to know how your digital camera really works, I can explain it to you. :-)
I have also worked in technical leadership positions, where I built a team from nothing in a foreign country during a global pandemic. I have found out that I am good at it--my director told me that it had been my "best year yet" in my review--it does not energize me, and I prefer to be an individual contributor. I really want to be the person to whom the tech lead says, "Here's a hard problem. Solve it for me."

Expectations

I want to work with a team of smart people who leave their egos at the door. I want to work with people smarter than I am who challenge me to grow and learn, people who own their solutions and care passionately about the craftsmanship of their code. I would like to work with people who are brutal on code and kind to people. From there, the problem domain is not the main concern.
