Summary

Im an experienced front-end and full-stack developer with a passion for creative problem solving. My approach to writing software is utilitarian - I believe in using the appropriate tool for the task. I have a highly analytical approach to problem solving and a love of learning that I apply both to my existing skill set and new technologies.

I began my software career as a full-stack developer primarily in the Ruby on Rails framework, and have recently pivoted towards more Python and Javascript oriented roles. I have experience at diverse organizations including early-stage startups such as Pensa Systems Inc, and the non-profit space from my time at Bonterra. In addition to my Ruby experience, I have a strong background in Javascript and have worked in a number of front-end technologies including modern Javascript frameworks like Vue and React. During my career, I've utilized Vue.js, React.js, and TypeScript for client-side development, alongside working on REST APIs using Node.js and Python/Flask, and most recently wrote queries using GraphQL. In addition to my programming experience I also have extensive experience with PostgresQL and other SQL databases.

Beyond my resume qualifications I wanted to highlight my softer skills, which I believe could really elevate my candidacy. Communication is key for me. I prioritize clear and direct communication, and I'm not afraid of giving or receiving constructive criticism. I also pride myself on being someone people enjoy working with. Whether it's former colleagues turned friends or remote teammates with whom Ive stayed connected, I've built strong bonds wherever I've worked. I have several former teammates and supervisors that are more than happy to provide references.

Expectations

Ideally something remote or hybrid, a good mix of technology that I am familiar with and new technology that challenges. Something mid-level or senior would be ideal although I would consider a lead role if it was a good fit.
