Remote sensing scientist
Summary
I specialize in making remote sensing systems produce reliable and meaningful measurements. I can act as the bridge between payload engineers to data scientists in the sensing chain. I focus from instrument performance assessment and modelling detector behaviour to calibration/validation ground processing and retrieval algorithms. I contribute to payload development by identifying critical parameters, analysing trade-offs, and ensuring observations meet the requirements to retrieve geophysical information. Experience in InCubed ESA funded projects.
Pioneer in polarimetry applied to GNSS RO, setting the foundational feasibility of the technique.
Implemented GNSS-RO in industry into cubesats in a world-first mission, from early phase to in-orbit validation.
Novel research in GM-APD microLiDARs for space applications.
Academic research in LiDAR with retrieval methods for atmosphere, field campaigns and expertise as lidar operator. Experience in optical links laboratory emulation.
Expectations
I am particularly motivated by roles that require linking instrument design, sensor behaviour and measurement strategies to ensure that Earth observation systems meet their performance objectives. I like hands-on engineering approaches collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, say optics, mechanical, electronics, software engineering, data assimilation among others.
