Expectations
As a new product manager, I would expect the following responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Roadmap Development: Define and prioritize the product vision and strategy, create a roadmap that aligns with company goals, and ensure the roadmap is aligned with the overall company strategy.
Market & Customer Research: Conduct market research to understand customer needs, analyze competitor offerings, and gather feedback from customers to inform product decisions.
Requirements Gathering & Prioritization: Work with cross-functional teams to gather product requirements, prioritize them based on market and customer feedback, and communicate the requirements to stakeholders.
Product Development & Launch: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop and launch the product, ensuring that it meets the defined requirements and is delivered on time and within budget.
Product Metrics & Analytics: Track key product metrics, analyze usage data, and conduct experiments to continuously improve the product and drive growth.
Stakeholder Management: Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including customers, sales, marketing, and engineering teams, to ensure everyone is aligned on the product vision and roadmap.
