Principal Front-end Engineer

Summary

I am an IT professional of 25 years standing, with experience covering many facets of computing.

Starting my career in academia, I have held several teaching and research positions, specialising in Web engineering, user-interface design, information visualisation, programming languages and algorithms. Since moving into the commercial sector, I have added significant depth to my application development skills, including modern frameworks such as React, Vue and Angular, mobile app development, UX evaluation, Web accessibility, business analysis and cloud architectures.

In addition to my technical abilities, I have excellent skills in problem-solving, communication and teamwork. While able to take on many different roles, I specialise in developing MVPs for start-ups and established businesses, applying my skills to the design and implementation of applications which are Responsive, Accessible, Scalable and Engaging.

Expectations

I am looking for a role where I can apply my skills to create elegant and efficient user interfaces. If this requires designing and implementing a complex user interaction, architecting the solution to work with large data sets or high throughputs, or incorporating a new technology - all the better.
