Summary

Manage High Availability and DR solutions related to SQL Always On and Windows Failover Cluster set
up.
Coordinate to Configure and maintain database servers and processes
Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
Manage SQL database backups using third party tool Power Protect Data Manager and DD Boost to
have minimum data loss in case of an adverse scenario.
Work along with other teams such as application, Network, Windows to resolve issues related to
database availability
Responsible for managing the SQL environment consisting of 100+ servers
Attend to Change requests and incidents raised on Service Now ticketing tool in accordance with
meeting SLAs
Worked on Migration of SQL 2012 servers to 2019 as part of upgrade project.
Work on Azure PaaS SQL Instances to check alerts on CPU/DTU, Memory and Disk usage.
Design and implement database in accordance to end users information needs
Deployment of SQL scripts into different environments as requested
Administration over DB Objects including Tables, Clusters, Views, Procedures etc
Maintain regular application of SQL Patches and apply them as per specified downtime
Monitor SQL jobs for failures and perform corrective measures for them.
Document database policies, procedures and standards
Monitor the server logs for critical errors
Report critical Low disk space, High CPU usage, and unusual Data and Log file growth, Blockings and
troubleshoot them.
Perform Database refresh/Copy, Backup/Restore of large databases and provide appropriate space
management.
Installation/Configuration/Management of MS-SQL Servers 2000\2005\2008\2012.
Setup and build new SQL boxes as per application requirements.
Responsible for database monitoring and Administration activities such as Creation of Databases,
users and logins, set permissions and security levels for users.
Perform Database Backups\Restores i.e., preventive maintenance of backups, recovery procedures.
Support internal developers and clients for DB related issues Work on SQL High availability solutions
like Log-Shipping, Replication, and Clustering.
Responsible for testing database systems and upgrades.
Creating/Scheduling/Troubleshooting SQL Server Agent jobs
Manage around 500-600 SQL database servers with database ranging between 2-8TB size hosted for
the client application backend.
Resolving Incidents/Service Requests/Tickets raised by customers through Tata Communications
Customer Service portal in stipulated time.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Create and Implement Change Requests according to Change Management process using Change
Request tool ITSM.
Monitoring the production servers of the client for any critical issues related to the Databases
