Junior Software Engineer
Summary
I am a software engineer with extensive experience in occupational therapy. My decision to pivot into technology was sparked by the pandemic and learning the power of the digital landscape to solve problems. I enjoyed creating functional digital activities for students who switched to remote therapy. After some serious self-reflection, I attended a software engineering bootcamp allowing me to pursue this interest. The rigorous program challenged me to learn various languages and frameworks, and create multiple projects in a fast-paced setting. Using technologies such as JavaScript, React, and Ruby on Rails projects were owned from end-to-end. My diligent participation in the program allowed me to accelerate from no coding experience to completing my first full-stack application designed for special education staff. Now, I want to use what I learned to construct functional problem-solving code.
Expectations
Evidence shows our knowledge is enhanced via peer-to-peer learning. My ideal job would support my growth as a software engineer via a collaborative approach (ie. mentorship programs, pair programming, etc.) and allow me to contribute to building problem-solving code for clients with diverse needs.
