Fresh Biomedical Science Graduate

Summary

During my Clinical Trainee experience at Melaka General Hospital from June 2023 to September 2023, I worked in a government-funded public hospital that serves as a referral center for patients from primary and health centers in the state of Melaka. My responsibilities included independently managing sample inventory at the main counter, adhering to SOPs for accepting and rejecting samples, and sorting them according to requisition form details. I ensured urgent requests, such as for dengue testing, were promptly identified and processed.

Throughout the training period, I collaborated with medical laboratory technicians in various departments including Cytology, Hematology, Blood Bank, and Histopathology. I gained hands-on experience in performing both manual and automated routine tests, and efficiently inputting patient data using unique barcodes. Additionally, I participated in group presentations facilitated by the scientific officer, which aimed to foster continuous learning and professional development among staff members.

Diversity and an environment that encourages growth and supports increase of women in stem.As well and gaining and utilising my biomedical science educational background to gain experience in molecular technologies in research or sales in pharmaceuticals to be part of conversations in drug development ,education and policies
