I am a PhD economist and avid data scientist. I am especially interested in macroeconomics, time dynamics, risk-based portfolio optimization problems, credit risk, probability of default, expected loss, model validation, and of course sports analytics. I love to create narratives from data and specialize in causal and predictive modeling with time series and other generalized linear models. My modeling experience spans multivariate time series models and unobserved components models to generalized linear models including logistic regression. I have experience performing cross-validation, discriminatory power analysis, and error attribution analysis and have created dashboards to diagnose model performance in real-time used to report to company executives. However, my most valuable asset is grit and the ability to find the right model for the job. I am willing to search the literature and consult with colleagues to find the right approach, learn how to implement new strategies, and power through the challenges faced in research and model development.
I'm looking for an opportunity to grow as a researcher and model developer to become a thought leader and expert in a particular subject. I want to not only contribute to the company's success with the output of my work but also mentor junior colleagues on how to produce better technical results and communicate them more effectively.
