I am a technology professional with a background in system administration and over 19 years of experience supporting and building information systems infrastructure. Studying for a Master of Computer Science degree majoring in Machine Learning and Big Data to pursue Data Engineering and Analysis roles.

Projects highlights.

University and Open-Source Projects. Completed several projects as part of University of Wollongong Master of Computer Science course. Machine Learning and Data Mining assignments using R, Python, TensorFlow, pytorch, Jupyter Notebook, Anaconda. Service-Oriented Software Engineering assignments using Docker, Java, Spring, Node, MySQL. Big Data Management assignments using Hadoop, HBase, and Hive. Prototype of data-pipeline with Docker, Airflow, Python, MySQL, and Great Expectations framework.

Zabbix monitoring service deployment. Based on a set of requirements I designed and deployed a service monitoring solution based on Zabbix, Grafana, Microsoft SCCM and MS SQL. Build virtual machines to host Zabbix and Grafana servers. Configured Zabbix server to collect raw metrics from Zabbix agents and calculate derived metrics. Configured Grafana dashboards to display metrics. Configured Microsoft SCCM to deploy Zabbix agents on to Windows nodes. Created MS SQL schema and configured Zabbix to store metrics.

On-Premises to cloud email migration. Completed a companys Email services migration to Cloud to increase its stability and availability. Configured Azure AD to check user credentials through on-premises Domain Controllers. Changed DNS records to fill the requirements of Exchange Online Microsoft Service. Migrated user mailboxes including emails, attachments, and calendars. Configured shared mailboxes, licenses, and access
rights.

Virtual machines infrastructure recovery. Attending an ERP disaster recovery situation at a client I restored the VMWare ESX-based virtual machine infrastructure. During the initial recovery stage, reset the root user password, replaced Power Supply Unit, and installed additional SSD storage. Moved all required virtual machines to new SDD storage. Configured virtual machines start up sequence to meet the dependency requirements of the ERP solution. Completed post-mortem and provided system availability and reliability recommendations.

Expectations

In pursuit of a part-time position that aligns with my studies, I'm excited about the prospect of exploring Data Engineering and Data Analysis roles. Additionally, I am passionate about opportunities in DevOps.
