Contract: Construct quartet search trees (unrooted binary trees) using normalized compression distance (NCD) between files that could be genetic sequences but also could be music, novels, or code. A Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) approach is used to find a near-optimal tree in O(n^3) time (finding an optimal result is NP-complete).

My task was to port the original C code to modern C++ and .optimize its efficiency. This task was successful and the open source library is now available to researchers

Expectations

I am interested in a remote software development position preferably within the renewable energy industry. This will use my experience in starting a solar energy nonprofit as well as the open source work that I have done in modern C++, Python, and JavaScript.
