Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer - Consultant at Impelsys inc, I have been working on an exciting project for Informa Tech called the IRIS project. Since August 2022, I have been responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a highly scalable, high-performing, and highly available production system. It has been a challenging yet rewarding experience to work on a project of this scale and complexity.

One of my primary responsibilities is to develop readable, maintainable, and efficient code that can handle high traffic loads. Additionally, I have built and managed services that were published to consumers. I have also been responsible for creating and maintaining schemas in databases and writing efficient SQL code.

Collaboration has been key to the success of the project, and I have worked closely with product managers and technologists to solve complex business problems. I have ensured that all documentation and knowledge bases were updated to promote collaboration within and outside of the group.

To develop scalable products for the project, I have used the Python stack and deployed them on the AWS ecosystem. This involved working with services such as API Gateway, AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Step Functions, Document DB, Elastic Search, Postgres, ECS, S3, Terraform, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch, Docker, Vault, API, and SQL.

As a part of the team, I have collaborated with team members and leadership to create roadmaps and strategies that guide how engineering teams deliver software to production. Additionally, I have conducted technical screening and interviews for software engineering candidates.

Overall, it has been a fulfilling and challenging experience working on the IRIS project, and I am excited to continue my work on this project and future projects with Impelsys inc.

Expectations

As a highly motivated Cloud Engineer and Senior Software Engineer with solid experience in building monoliths/Micro-services, Distributed Systems development, and Server-less Architectures, I have high expectations from my new job.

My primary expectation is to work on challenging projects that require creative and innovative solutions. I am passionate about scalable product development and writing clean, well-tested, and well-documented code that follows best practices. I also believe in the importance of security, supporting, automating, and optimizing mission-critical deployments leveraging configuration management, CI/CD, and DevOps processes on AWS and the cloud in general.

I expect to work in a collaborative and supportive environment where I can share my ideas and learn from my colleagues. I would like to work with a team that values transparency, continuous learning, and open communication. I am also looking for opportunities to grow professionally and to take on leadership roles when the need arises.

Overall, I am excited to join a company that shares my values and provides me with the opportunity to work on interesting and challenging projects, while also allowing me to continue to learn and grow as a Cloud Engineer and Senior Software Engineer.
