Biotech Professional
Summary
I really only have 2 skills. Figuring out what needs be done, and figuring out how to do it. This hasn't always been the case. I remember my first week at Kernel I asked my manager for direction starting a project, his response: "You'll figure it out." And he was right, I did.
Looking back, I have a solid history of getting tossed in the deep end and succeeding. Truth be told, I like it. I did my Masters in Spain with limited Spanish, little oversight, and on a poorly understood topic. None the less, I delivered a nice project, and completed my Masters in an accelerated year.
At Kernel, I lived in the deep end. This was due to the many teams I completed projects with, as well as the promotion from technician to applications engineering, and again up to product management. My favorite role though, was as a part of a team called "Turn On, Make Work".
The hardware team had delivered a first of its kind sensor, capable of the most sensitive non-invasive neural activity detection in the world. So we hoped. Proving it was a challenge that required development spanning the gamut. Twenty people working united, no sense of ego, just problems to tackle and solutions to build.
Seeking that kind of good time.
