Dear Members of the Selection Committee,
As a computational biologist in the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), I have been involved in various projects that have strengthened my skills in bioinformatics and computational biology. My responsibilities have encompassed a wide array of tasks, including Genome Wide Association Studies, Whole Genome Resequencing, Rshiny based GUI development, Pangenome development of Rice, Multi-OMICS data analysis, Machine learning, Image processing, and capacity building through hands-on training sessions. These experiences have equipped me with the ability to tackle complex biological problems effectively.
My Master's degree in Bioinformatics specializing in NGS and microarray data analysis, and my current position, have aroused my interest in multi-omics and Artificial Intelligence by undertaking projects in Genomics, Transcriptomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics, microbiome, etc. I have also worked with microarray datasets utilizing cancer-related structural bioinformatics. During my time with Rawal Genomics Lab, I lead teams in developing Python scripts for COVID drug property analysis and gained expertise in virtual screening using Autodock Vina. Additionally, my internship with HackBio involved challenging tasks such as transcriptomics data analysis of SARS-Cov-2 and bladder cancer, where I contributed to analysis and generated research ideas.
I possess proficiency in various programming languages such as Python, R, R shiny, SQL, and Docker, and have extensive experience with multi-omics data analysis, bioinformatics tools, and databases. Moreover, my strong analytical skills and attention to detail have enabled me to derive valuable insights from complex biological datasets, contributing significantly to scientific research.
Furthermore, I excel in communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering effective collaboration and knowledge sharing within interdisciplinary teams. I thrive in dynamic environments that value creativity and critical thinking, and I am eager to bring my passion for bioinformatics and computational biology.
