Bioinformatics
Summary
I have always been interested in biosciences, especially genomics and molecular biology. That's why I decided to study a bachelor in biotechnology, which provided me with the essential knowledge to understand how the genome is structured and how genetic diseases such as cancer can arise.
However, during this period I started being curious about the usefulness of data analysis to extract meaningful biological conclusions of "omics" experiments. I have just finished a Masters in Bioinformatics where I have had the privilege to be part of a wonderful team in Fisabio (Valencia, Spain) during 8 months. I designed a pipeline to automatize the download of Klebsiella pneumoniae genomes, annotation and building the core genome.
I am fluent in Python and Linux command line although I can use several R packages to create plots and some statistical analysis.
Expectations
I want an opportunity to gain experience and grow up as a professional by sharing time and goals with knowledgeable people who can guide me and give me advice to improve and broaden my skillet.
I am keen on genomics and transcriptomics, although I'm not narrow-minded and I am willing to try new things.
