Summary

I'm a Software Engineer with multiple years in the Tech sector in different roles, mostly in startups as well as at Microsoft. From AI to customer-facing positions, I've tried various flavours and landed a few years ago in Backend as my preferred destination. I have experience with TypeScript (Node.js), Go and various DBs and cloud providers, building both APIs as well as webapps.

My prior experiences in multiple sectors and roles have allowed me to trace my desired career path, as well as given me first-hand knowledge of what each team within a company looks for, what their challenges are and how to best work with/for them. I have also lived through startup failures, from which I have learnt how to identify some of the signs of critical business and technical errors and act on them before they become irreversible.

I harbour a deep passion for Software Engineering as a whole, far beyond just coding. I take care to keep the business aspect in mind at all times, and love building the simplest yet most performant and scalable solutions possible. I'm a massive proponent of DDD and Hexagonal Architecture used pragmatically, and believe languages and frameworks are an implementation detail and can always be learnt and mastered, since a solid engineering foundation is the key pillar to enable all further evolution.

I am highly invested in my growth, both personal and professional, and try to infuse that energy and enthusiasm to anyone in my team. I highly value culture in a company, and believe its a key driver of happiness and satisfaction amongst all employees, regardless of title or role. I use feedback in order to recognise the areas I can improve on in addition to those Im thriving in, and actively reciprocate with my colleagues, always with empathy and a growth mindset.

Expectations

I'm looking for a long-term commitment where I can be the architect of high-impact projects, grow the business' revenue and become a key player and SME in the Engineering team and the company as a whole, potentially becoming a manager in the near-to-mid term.

I would like to work with the languages and technologies I'm already familiar with, particularly C# and Go, and potentially open up to new ones such as Elixir.

I expect a company with a great culture, values I align with and a mission I can stand behind of. I would like a product-centric mindset, where work-life balance is prioritised and employees are more than numbers. I want the chance to grow and learn under comprehensive leadership and an encouraging environment.
