Backend Developer
Summary
I'm a backend engineer with a background in mathematics and creative arts. I transitioned into a career in software development because I love problem-solving, creating things, and collaborating with others. My experience as a consultant at EY speaks to my abilities to listen fully and communicate clearly. I'm a diligent and eager learner as evidenced by the multiple (human) languages that I've learned.
While working at EY, I was brought onto a pre-sale development project to integrate a new database into the Java backend code. The database, CouchDB, was also new to me, but I researched it as I went and quickly became one of the experts on the team. I refactored and improved the API, implemented feature parity with the new database, and added critical cloud features to the application architecture. When these features were demoed to the client, the project sold for over $2M for the first phase of work.
Expectations
I'm looking for the opportunity to keep contributing in a real way, and developing my skills and experience further. I love building things and working with a team to get things accomplished.
