Summary
I recently worked at a Private Equity advisory firm where I performed buy and sell side due diligence, forecasting and valuation, merger integration, and project management office work. Unfortunately, I was laid off due to COVID-19 budget cuts. However, while I was there, I identified $2M in cost savings for a client by analyzing over 10,000 employees salaries following a merger and five years worth of employee credit card spending. I then suggested opportunities to reduce costs by replacing overpaid employees and negotiating corporate spending accounts with frequent suppliers. I also prepared detailed income statement and margin analyses for a Quality of Earnings report, reconciling over $1M in adjustments to over/understated line items and citing inconsistent margins over time. In another project, I developed a DCF Valuation Model of a potential acquisition and an updated Operating Model for the bolt-on of a sawmill to a clients existing portfolio lumber business, enhancing the post-merger valuation of the acquisition by >$1.5M after the roll-out of the new leasing model.
Expectations
I am looking for a job where I can excel as an individual while also being able to contribute to the larger company culture. I want to be somewhere where I am relied upon to do things on my own but in a supportive and open environment. I am looking for a role where I can use my financial and global business skills with an aspect of creativity. I do not want to be somewhere where there are set guidelines for every task, but somewhere where unique problem-solving is encouraged and necessary.
