Accountant

Summary

In the past two years, I have worked in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Most of my tasks were completed in support of the Staff Accountants and/or the Controller. I have worked with software programs such as Blackline and JDE E1 to complete journal entries and download information on a weekly and monthly basis for recons.

Due to the Pandemic, I was not able to have a normal internship. I have worked contract positions where I was under the leadership of senior Staff Accountants and Controllers. Under their tutelage, I have gained knowledge about using such skills as pivot tables and v-lookup in Microsoft Excel. I have also learned their in house programs to submit invoices on the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable side. During the recent contract position, I was able to gain knowledge of how to complete general ledger entries in Oracle JDE E1. I also used the program to download data for weekly and monthly account reconciliations.

My background as an Army Veteran greatly influences my strong work ethic, drive for success, and ability to take on new responsibilities. That along with my natural leadership skills have often led to positive recognition from management and promotions in various fields. As a soldier, I greatly enjoyed collaborating with others to achieve a common goal.
