Job Summary
A Technical Writer works with development and product managers, engineers, technical trainers, and other technical writers to craft and refine technical documentation, such as engaging and effective online help articles, inline help videos, release notes, and on-screen text.

At Tarana, you will be part of an Engineering team delivering a cutting-edge cloud SaaS product -- a management system for wireless networks, scaling to millions of devices. You will develop user guides, administrator guides, online help, etc. as needed for this product. To do this you will build strong working relationships with the cross-functional product development areas in the company. You must have a hands-on approach to the technology and to the products being documented. You will help enhance and expand the current documentation to provide a variety of learning and reference material for our customers.

Responsibilities/What Youll Do

Translate technical information into clear, concise, and effective documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Deliver post-sales content for online documentation (i.e., help articles, release notes, etc.) as well as provide UI text (i.e., UI tooltips, labels, error messages, etc.) for use by our UX and Engineering teams.

Integrate graphics and illustrations to improve the quality and usability of the documentation.

Work cross-functionally with SMEs in the Engineering, Field Support, Sales, and Marketing groups.

Assist in defining standards, style, and terminology.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering (preferably Computer or Electronics Engineering).

Technical writing/communications degree/diploma/certifications.

5+ years of experience in technical writing for product documentation.

Hands-on experience with HTML5/CSS and appropriate documentation tools.

Desired Skills & Experience

Excellent oral, written, analytical, and organizational skills.

Detail-orientation, and ability to think and write in empathy with the target audience.

Ability to mentor and influence without authority.

Experience writing REST API documentation would be a plus (OpenAPI, Swagger).

Experience in the network and/or cloud computing domains would be a plus.

Hands-on experience with JIRA and/or Confluence.

Must possess creativity and a sense of humour.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
