System Applications Architect RFP
Job Description
This position is contingent upon contract award.
As Systems Applications Architect you will plan, direct, and coordinate activities to ensure proper system integration and segmentation of data. Identify problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Responsibilities:
Review and expand upon currently documented high-level business systems applications requirements for the Capital Projects, information system infrastructure (including Operations, Product Acceptance, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Process Control, Laboratory, Accountability, Safety, Environmental, Business Systems, Security, etc.).
Ensure that applications are integrated appropriately as required to address organizational efficiency needs.
Ensure that applications are segmented where necessary to protect data to the appropriate level; and provide application architectural subject matter expertise to support the mission.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or equivalent major and 7 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Experience in applying NIST and DOE guidance to IT/Cyber programs. This includes but is not limited to:
NIST SP 800-37 Risk Management Framework for Information Systems and Organizations
NIST SP 800-82 Guide to Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Security
NIST SP 800-53 Security and Privacy Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations
NIST SP 800-160 vol 1&2 Systems Security Engineering: Considerations for a Multidisciplinary Approach in the Engineering of Trustworthy Secure Systems
Experience architecting application solutions for complex environments which include classified and unclassified networks, as well as industrial controls
Experience addressing compatibility needs between equipment and software, analyzes operational/system requirements, supports design reviews, and presents technical briefings.
Experience engineering systems including conducting of prototypes, proof of concepts, or the full implementation of systems.
Experience evaluating, assessing, and testing data security and continuity of operations for systems and programs.
Experience gathering requirements for application development needs
Experience creating planning documents, drawings, and design documents to facilitate architecture planning requirements
Understanding of classified and unclassified Cybersecurity needs and the ability to work with Derivative Classifiers, Records Management, Cybersecurity, and other data and security related organizations
Ability to define scope of technical programs and development of an effective and efficient solution to challenges which involve unique or controversial problems.
Experience with Software Defined Networks (SDN) concepts and internal cloud-based networking.
Ability to communicate requirements, results, and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues and management.
Area Security Access: The ability to obtain a Q clearance is required.
