Job Description:
We are hiring for our client "State of Iowa" project.
Iowa's Department of Natural Resources has an immediate need for a self-starting Sr level full-stack .NET developer. The DNR's mission is to conserve and enhance our natural resources in cooperation with individuals and organizations to improve the quality of life in Iowa and ensure a legacy for future generations. The Senior-level developer must work with minimal supervision to drive much-needed updates and enhancements to DNR's complex National Pollutant Discharge System. The position is onsite with some hybrid flexibility; only candidates who work in the Des Moines surrounding areas and are willing to be onsite on day one should get submitted to this position.
The technical environment is a .Net webforms 4.7.1 in C# environment with Entity Framework and MS SQL backend; SSRS for reports. Only candidates with extensive experience with .Net web forms, C#, and SQL. The JavaScript frameworks used in this project include Bootstrap, jQuery. This person should have a solid design sense for laying out controls for usability. Candidates must have a strong aptitude for troubleshooting performance issues in SQL. Experience with ArcGIS or other mapping frameworks is highly desirable and rises to the top of the list for consideration. In addition, the contractor must be a self-starter who can complete more complex work quickly and accurately without relying on other team members to do so. The .Net developer collaborates with a small agile team with a PO, QA tester scrum master, and is assigned projects that help protect Iowa's environment (protecting water quality of rivers in the case of NPDS). The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, is happy dealing with older web form applications, communicates clearly and concisely, respectfully asking probing questions of product owners/SMEs, enjoys working with significant/large datasets/considers outliers,/thoroughly tests their work. The daily breakdown of this role is 60% development, 20% testing code, and 20% scrum meetings
Must-Have:
extensive and recent web forms experience
extensive work with large complex datasets
a comprehensive history of working well with PO/SMEs in an agile environment.
