JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Senior Software Engineer

DIVISION: EGS Neptune

REPORTS TO: Senior Software Developer

FLSA: Exempt

SUPERVISES: None

Division: Braxton Technologies, LLC

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Shift & Travel

M-F, Days

25% (or less) travel required

MAJOR FUNCTION: Responsible for the development of next generation software for satellite command and control systems, utilizing modern technologies in a cloud-like environment.

Responsibilities Essential Functions

Develop software using C/C++ in a RHEL Linux environment
Design and implement software for large-scale command and control systems
Troubleshoot and report software anomalies
Work in a team environment, leading a small team of developers
Apply agile development practices and techniques to adapt rapidly to changing requirements and schedules
Leads design, technical, and programmatic meetings, and resolves issues
Develops and reviews integrated technical and programmatic documentation
Complete all initial and annual training requirements and disclosures as outlined by BSTG
Perform all other duties as required, consistent with the goals, objectives and responsibilities of the department
Required Education and Experience

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics
6+ years of experience with a Bachelors Degree
3+ years of experience with a Masters Degree
Required Skills/Abilities Competencies

Experience with programming languages including C/C++
Experience with RedHat Linux or similar operating systems
Experience writing scripts (i.e shell scripting, Python, etc.)
Object-oriented software development
Excellent verbal / written communication and organizational skills
Team-oriented personality
Preferred Experience and Qualifications

Neptune or OSComet Ground Application Development
GIT software version control systems
QT, Boost, XML
Agile software development
Multi-threaded software programming
Satellite ground systems or satellite command and control
C2MS/GMSEC Integration
Virtualization technologies (i.e. VMWare, AWS, OpenStack, etc)
Familiarity with web technologies (examples: HTML, CSS, React, REST, JSON, WildFly, etc.)
Familiarity with messaging servers (examples: ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, WebSphereMQ, ZeroMQ, GMSEC, etc.)
Experience interacting with databases (examples: MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
Security Clearance Requirements: DoD Secret Clearance

Anticipated compensation (median) for this position: $125,000 annually
The anticipated annualized full time target compensation (median) for this position is: $125,000.00.
