Job Description

Capstone IT is helping a client in the Retail Supply Chain & Data Analysis industry find the perfect Senior Software Engineer for their team. The ideal candidate will have experience with full-stack software development, managing dev teams, and architecting solutions from the ground up. As the client is embarking on the creation of their new Big Data platform, the Software Engineer will help tackle big projects and getting data in and out of their Data Lake environment.

Responsibilities:

Make strategic software, resourcing, design, and optimization recommendations
Locate and direct solutions for critical challenges involving software and hardware interfaces.
Lead end-to-end enterprising design, research and inspections, including mobile application development, web development, back-end APIs, database design, scale, data access and security, authorization stacking and monitoringensuring solutions are scalable, secure and maintainable.
Participate in all phases of Agile Delivery: Planning Poker, Estimating, Sprint, Planning, daily stand-ups, breaking down stories into technical tasks/requirements, etc.
Code, debug and resolve software defects in various products and services
Work collaboratively with program management to translate business and end-to-end user requirements into software product designs
Create and document high quality coding standards and drive code reviews
Lead by example to drive culture of engineering excellence and to mentor junior team members
Qualifications:

7-10 years of experience writing APIs in Java or C#
5+ years with modern JavaScript framework (React JS)
5+ years with SQL server
Experience with REST APIs
Experience with Stored Procedures and Web Services
Experience writing, reviewing and documenting code
Familiar with Azure and Bitbucket/Git
Familiar with Agile methodologies and principals and DevOps practices (CI/CD)
Substantial knowledge in security concepts and experience with secure code development techniques
A plus: Experience with Big Data, EDI, and/or retail/foodservice/pharmaceutical industries and supply chain
