Senior Java Engineer- Remote!
Location: Remote
Terms: 6-month contract to hire
Capstone IT is hiring a Full Stack Java Software Engineer to support our client, a Fortune 500 company with a great reputation and history of delivering to their customers.
Our consultant, who will be working on a contract for hire (to the client) relationship, will develop and support applications for internal and external systems including Inventory, Supply Chain, Digital Commerce, Retail Applications, Enterprise Search and more.
These teams are focused on the development, design and integration of various software systems, databases, and third-party packages utilizing tools and technologies including Java, Spring, Hibernate and SQL.
What You'll Do:
Partner with key stakeholders to develop new applications and enhance and support existing applications and programs.
Work with business systems analysts and stakeholders to translate business to technical requirements and solve problems.
Collaborate with project teams and cross functional teams to troubleshoot open issues and bug-fixes.
Collaborate, coach and mentor team members on best practices, code reviews, internal tools, and process improvements.
Write and maintain readable, sustainable, and efficient code in highly optimized and scalable architectures.
Own applications from conception and design to implementation and support.
Debug and test code as needed.
Create and update advanced technical documentation.
Skills and Qualifications
Required:
7+ years of software development experience.
Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices of the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, testing, build and release engineering processes with focus on automation and end to end traceability.
Development skills including Java, HTML 5 and experience using a modern reactive JavaScript library/framework such as Vue or React.
Working understanding of databases including writing and amending queries in SQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, or other relational databases.
Experience in GCP, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or another cloud provider.
Full stack experience specifically with Spring MVC
Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end users and multiple management layers, including the ability to interact with vendors as needed.
Desired:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology.
Experience working in DevOps including continuous integration and continuous deployment using such technologies like GIT, Jenkins, JIRA and Confluence.
Ability to articulate advanced technical concepts and teach others.
Experience with Java FX
